My novel Perseus should be going live on the Kindle Store and Nook in the next few days. It’s a retelling of the old Greek myth. I went through a bunch of the original versions of the story to get back to the basics, then added the important backstory of the internecine fighting between the Greek gods.

…My Iconia A500 arrived yesterday, and this morning I got the Kindle App. First purchase? That’s right, you may begin appreciating me now~
I enjoyed the preview you posted, so perhaps it can be mutual appreciation.

Chuckle…you are duly appreciated. You can call it a birthday gift, if you like.
Thanks, man. If you like it, talk it up; we struggling artist need all the help we can get.

I finished Perseus on Monday, and enjoyed the read.
I see what you mean about the odd formatting the Kindle App causes – that must have been extremely annoying!
Your reworking of the tale put me in mind of the mood and fun-loving spirit of the first version of the tale I read when the dews of creation were still wet upon the Earth. I appreciated the addition of the interplay between the various deities, as well as the incorporation of modern dialogue with period attitudes. As a kid, I imagined that both Perseus and Theseus would be insufferable to spend any time with, but you managed to add a sense of humanity to Perseus which made him more interesting.
Good stuff~

Thanks, sir! I always wanted to flesh out the gods — they’re very human in some ways; Jung considered them architypal — but I wanted to make them strange enough to be new. Perseus in the old tales is a good man, much different from the later heroes. If this does well, I’m goung to take a crack at Hrcules.
And yeah, unless you bust down to the HTML the mobi format is a nightmarw to deal with. ePub works so much better.
