General Ramblings

My novel Cawnpore is now live on Amazon’s Kindle Store and B&N’s Nook store. Set in 1857 during the India Mutiny, it follows the exploits of a political officer trying to uncover and stop sedition in the court of the local potentate, Nana Sahib.

Head on over and buy a copy for the exorbitant price of $1.99!

Here’s the first three chapters as a preview.

It’s hot today: over 100. The swamp cooler’s been running since 9am and it’s still 85 in the front room. The daughter is a bit miffed about the discomfort this is causing, as evidenced here…

“Why?” you ask. ” ’cause,” I respond.

Adorable…until they’re big enough to eat your face. And even then, they’re still pretty cute.

Well, it seems our sleep plan is working. I’m taking the first and mid watches (for those of you familiar with the naval watch system) and the wife gets the morning and forenoon. We each get about 5 hours of decent sleep and another 2-3 of dozing between feedings.

I’m hoping to be able to get some posts up in the next few days, but I wouldn’t hold me to it.

Priority, if I can get a few hours to write, it to finish the on-so-close to finished Perseus, so I can get to proofreading it.

I’m Scottish. I love otters. I like cats. This combined them all in a great bundle of cute. Enjoy!

Been crazy busy here at the Campbell’s household. Between medical appointments, researching the dissertation, and preparing for the government shutdown to clamp the wife’s income shut, I’ve been busting the hump trying to get my next novel Perseus ready for primetime. That hasn’t left much room for anything else.

That said, Perseus is now in the 50,000 word range, about half done, and if I hold to my output level for the next fortnight, it’ll be into proofreading and editing before the end of the month, and might be up on the Kindle Store by the end of May. After that, I’ll start working on the print-on-demand version. If this happens as it looks like it might, I could have Perseus out for the public before the rerelease of Cawnpore, my historical novel set in the India Mutiny of 1857.

Work continues on an updated version of a certain venerable espionage game system. Hoping to have it ready for playtesting and layout by the end of the year.
